What is an EPS file?
Friday, May 27, 2011
An EPS file – otherwise known as an Encapsulated PostScript file, is a standard graphics file format for saving and exchanging art, images and layouts of entire page compositions. An EPS file contains information about an object or layout using PostScript language. PostScript files are among the most versatile and sophisticated file formats available. A PostScript file is perfect for screen printing art since it is able to produce crisp edges. One of the greatest advantages of using an EPS, is that if it is scaled up, the maximum amount of information is retained to ensure the highest quality output possible. EPS files can be generated by drawing applications such as Adobe Illustrator, as well as layout applications like Adobe InDesign.
